4th, 5th and 6th classesopened their classes, opened their minds, and started the conversation about mental health today and all are wearing the Green Ribbon in order to See Change happening. Martin, William, Frank and Kelley held a session with each of the classes this morning speaking about several issues:
Mental
health -v- mental illness with a focus on what keeps us well and happy
Green Ribbon campaign - reducing stigma
Martin & William shared their stories about Recovery at an age appropriate level
Q & A time - discussions about Community, Responsibility and how to have the conversation
Homework - talk about the Green Ribbon at home
What an insightful, understanding and respectful group of students who have obviously already engaged with the topic to some degree. A credit to their families and teachers, and most of all - to themselves. Check out the school website HERE.
