Bray

Last Tuesday 11th July a group of participants and two staff members went out to visit Cairdeas Clubhouse in Bray.

Our former staff supervisor in charge Ronan Mulhern is now manager of the Cairdeas Clubhouse in Bray.  It was good to see him again and have a look around the Clubhouse and see what they do there. It is a lot different to the HUB service in Cherryfield.  The members run the clubhouse and the staff help.
You could either work in the Catering end or the Admin area.

We had tea and scones with homemade jam and fresh fruit salad for the healthy eaters.

After our tea we headed of in the bus to see their allotment.  The garden looked well and some members can work in the garden.

After the garden visit we went to the seafront in Bray and we had 20 mins to look around and do our own thing.

Some of us bought an ice cream cone in Bray.

Then we went back to the Clubhouse and had Chicken A La King that their chef there made and Banoffie for desert that Diane our chef in Cherryfield made.  The lunch and the desert were delicious. Thank you Diane for all  your hard work making the Banoffie pie!!!

Martin O'Brien made a speech at lunch time.

After our lunch we headed back on the bus and people carrier to Cherryfield.  We got back at 2.30pm.

The weather was ok and it stayed dry so we were lucky.

The day was very enjoyable and everyone who went had a great day.

We wish Ronan every success in managing the Clubhouse and we are glad that he is happy working there.
