Belfast trip

On Tuesday 15th August 2017.  A group from Cherryfield went on the 9.30am train from Connolly to Belfast.
Most of us had free travel passes and some had a companion pass which meant that the staff did not have to pay the train fare.  You have to fill out a form for Social Welfare passes if you are crossing the border.

The train journey was lovely and they had a trolley for tea and coffee, Kate organized muffins for everyone.

We arrived in Belfast Central Station at 11.45am.  Then we got the bus into the city centre and there was no charge as we could use our train tickets.

When we got into the city we went on the Hop on hop off. Most of us went upstairs on the open top bus. We had a lovely tour guide and we got to see a lot of Belfast and its may historic features like Stormount.  While we were on the bus near the end of the tour a rain shower came down.  The tour started at 1.20pm and finished at 3pm.

After the bus tour left us back in the city we had some time to get something to eat and shop.  Me and a few others went to McDonald's for lunch. Then we had about an hour and a half to shop.

At 5pm we all met up at our meet up point then we got the bus back to the train station.  We all managed to get seats on the same carriage.  I had coffee on the train and a muffin that was left over from the ones Kate got for us.

It was a great day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves and we were very lucky with the nice dry weather we had.

As Belfast is part of Northern Ireland you will have to have sterling with you or a bank card to use the ATM.

I would recommend anybody to visit Belfast!
