On the 17th of August 2017 after four years of service our chef Diane left Cherryfield.
We had a nice day for her, some people gave speeches others made her cards and presented her with flowers.
To celebrate her new career we had spuds, cauliflower and cheese, roast beef, gravy carrots, soup, home made chocolate cake, black forest gateau and colorful balloons.
We miss you Diane the best of luck to you!
A
Cherry-ode to Diane
This day today with us is your last,
In the canteen we all a gather,
Being in our company brings fourth
memories past,
As we celebrate and party along with
banter.
You fed us food tasty and healthy,
A variety of goods ranging from A to Z,
The dishes you created were fit even
for the richly wealthy,
Every mouthful provoked a taste
explosion spree.
At 2p.m you begin your departure,
People lined up to receive and give
hugs and or kisses,
Big smiles, teary eyes, saddened
hearts, long waves paining but will endure,
You backward wave though car rear
window as we all unanimously yell good luck wishes.
After three the centre is empty with
silence perfection,
It’s now 4 o’clock our day comes to an
end,
We take a moment for reflection,
Alone to the air these words we
whisper,
GOODBYE DEAR DIANE, FAREWELL MY FRIEND.
