Friday the 11th of May was another sad day in the
history of Cherryfield as Kate our manager left after 16 years of service. We
all gathered in the canteen where the staff all sat at the long table which was
nicely decorated and we sat at also nicely decorated tables with a plate of
finger food make by Cyrill our fantastic chef.
The management HSE team were joined by Margaret Webb, Thomas O'Brien and Jackie Ryan. The
staff were joined by Kelley (a past staff member), both the principal and vice principal of the primary school next door.
On the message screen a slideshow
played that had farewell messages both written and spoken. There were speeches
given expressing what she had done for people, sadness with her leaving, how
much she will be missed. She will be
greatly missed and whoever takes her place will have big shoes to fill but we
will all do our very best to make an effort in helping him/her settle in.
We
all wish Kate the very best of luck with her new post in the HSE.
