A group of us met up
in town on Dame Street and we walked over to Pearse library where we attended a
talk on positive emotions.
It was decided instead of going straight to the library we
would stop off and have a cup of tea/coffee and a bite to eat in close
proximity so as not to arrive late to the presentation.
Sarah, the speaker was not only very enthusiastic about this
subject but also gave an easy to follow talk and even went a step further by
getting us the people involved by focusing on a particular emotion and describe
how we felt both mentally and physically, how we may have looked to others,
after which a different emotion was focused upon.
She then mentioned in the
talk that there are ten main positive emotions and that these can counteract
the effects felt from negative emotions and given time to reverse the effects
of prolonged exposure to negative emotions thereby changing your whole outlook
on life.
